Geography

Southport Eco Centre

As part of Year 3's Volcanoes topic in Spring term, they visited Southport Eco centre to take part in their Natural Disasters workshop. They learnt about how and why natural distasters happen as well as the impact that these cause on the surrounding environment and people's lives.

Brockhole on Windermere

Last term children in Y4 travelled to The Lake District. The children were identifying the physical and human characteristics of the Lake District which they would then compare with Liverpool. They used maps and compasses, photographs and made their own observations about what they could see.

Martin Mere

Year 1 have enjoyed a great visit to Martin Mere in Burscough. Not only did they learn about the plants and wildlife in the area, but they also put their geography skills to practise by using the maps to navigate their way around the site. The children especially had fun exploring the Wild Walk and the wetland environment.
