Welcome to Class 3D where the class teacher is Mrs. Day.
PE in 3D is on a Tuesday and Thursday. PE kits should be taken home every half term, to be washed.
Mrs. Capano teaches Spanish on Tuesdays and through ICT, games and songs the children will learn to:-
- count in Spanish (numbers 20-100)
- learn the names of days of the week and months
- learn the names of family names and pets
- learn the names of everyday classroom objects
Children enjoy Djembe drumming lessons on Thursdays with James Martin
In English, children will read the Greek Myths of 'Theseus and the Minotaur' and 'Perseus and Medusa'.
In Maths, children will be completing work on 'Place value', 2D and 3D shape, length including perimeter, multiplication (x2, x3, x4,x5, x10 tables), division and time.
The Geography and History topic this term is 'The Groovy Greeks'. Children will locate Greece on maps and compare and contrast it to the U.K. We will also find out about Ancient Greece and how they affect our lives today, around two thousand years later.
A trip to the Liverpool World Museum and the Walker Art Gallery on 29th September 2014, will support our topic work
The Science topic this term, is 'Light and Dark'.
Children can bring in fruit for a breaktime snack and a daily changed bottle of water to be stored in the class.
Homework is given out on Mondays to be returned on Thursdays. Children are encouraged to read at home daily, too.
