Key Information for parents

Our PE days are on Monday and Friday.

We expect each child to read every night at home to help them practise sounds that we are learning in class, develop their own self confidence as well as instil a love of reading. Our reading books are currently the paper Read Write Inc books, to support us as we develop our reading skills in year 1. These are very delicate and we ask that parents and children look after these books and refrain from writing children's names on these.

Maths homework will be given out every Friday in the children's maths books with one page highlighted and dated for that week. Alternatively, some children will have a maths task stuck in their purple home project book which are to be completed each week.

New spellings will be given out every Friday and are written in each child's spelling book. The children are expected to practise their spellings in their spelling books ready for a spelling test on a Friday afternoon in class.

We ask that both maths books and spelling books are sent back into school no later than Thursday to ensure new homework can be assigned to each child.

In addition to weekly homework, we also have home school link projects which will be set each half term and located in each child's purple home school project book. The children will choose one, or more, of these projects to complete either in the home school project book or in another creative way. The more creative the better!

We ask that home school project books are sent back into school no later than the last week of the half term to ensure new homework projects can be assigned.
