After working extremely hard preparing for our SATs, this half term we will enjoy reading a variety of texts and work on further developing our writing skills.
We really enjoyed exploring lots of different types of poems including rhyme, shape, haiku and free verse. Creativity flowed and the children created some excellent poems of their own.
6E performed 'Little Red Riding Hood and The Wolf' by Roald Dahl during our whole school assembly. Taking inspiration from this Lauren Grant wrote her own 'Revolting Rhyme' based on 'Beauty and The Beast' wowing staff and children alike.
500 Words Competition
This half term, children in Year 6 have been working very hard on their entries for BBC Radio 2's 500 Word story competition. We have focused on the genre of horror and the children have written some truly terrifying stories.
Well done to all our school winners and runners up, your stories were very imaginative and great to read!
A big congratulations to Ben and Aliyah who made it to the 2nd round of the official competition.
