This term we have been enjoying reading books by Oliver Jeffers. We read 'How to Catch a Star' and thought about ways to catch a star of our very own.
We are also reading Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram. We already know lots of facts about Neil Armstrong from our Explorers topic so it is exciting to read all about Bob's day on the moon.
In grammar we have been looking at sentences structures and identifying the verbs and nouns in a sentence. This helps us to understand where to place our full stop. The fun song below helps us to remember!
We are also looking at ways to make our sentences more exciting for the reader by using adverbs and similes.
To celebrate World Poetry Day we are studying the poem Nut Tree by Julia Donaldson. We will be performing the poem using actions in front of a green screen for the rest of the school. Our focus will be to read the poem aloud with lovely expression.
This term we are looking at the True Story of the Three Little Pigs. We will be finding out the wolf's version of events and deciding who is really telling the truth! Have we been fooled by the pigs all this time?
